One of my high school friends lives in Oklahoma City and got engaged around Thanksgiving. I didn't think there was anyway I would be able to make the wedding with how crazy times are right now. So I just kind of put it on the back burner. Then, one of my girlfriends, Nikki from Sioux Falls asked me if I could make it work if we drove..... well yes! That was a possibility.
So we planned to leave Sioux Falls on Friday and drive to Kansas City to stay with Noelle and pick up a few more girls and hit the road to Oklahoma. However, things change- especially when we live in the midwest in the winter. Sioux Falls was anticipating a blizzard to come in on Thursday evening and into Friday. So, we had to change our plans.
We hit the road on Thursday and made it to Council Bluffs and stopped off at the casino for a night before driving the rest of the way on Friday. It was totally random and on a whim. It was quite the night. We stayed up way to late playing roulette and meeting a lot of random people.
Friday morning came fast and we had to be in Kansas City by 1pm to pick Sarah up from the airport. Sonia met us in Kansas City and we stayed at Noelle's on Friday night. We went to dinner and went to bed early as we had to be up and on the road by 7am to OKC.
The wedding was beautiful and it was so great seeing Beth so happy. It was a quick ceremony and reception- it started at 2 and ended at 5. We wished we could have spent more time with Beth.
However, we happened to stumble upon the convention center to notice Florida Georgia Line was in town that evening. So on a whim we got tickets in the pit and had so much fun at the concert. So many fun memories from the weekend!
We were up and on the road by 8:30 on Sunday morning. Nikki and I rolled back into town around 7pm Sunday evening.
