California 2017

The day after the last day of school Jeff and I took the kids to California to kick off summer and enjoy our time together. We didn't have too much planned for our week except a day with the Belitz Family and one night at Legoland Hotel.

We arrived on Saturday evening and got organized and settled.

My friend and her family came from Huntington Beach area for the day on Sunday. We spent the whole day at the beach and pool. It was perfect.

On Monday the kids and I ventured around Coronado in the morning. We had lunch and then went to the pool. Jeff joined us at the pool in the afternoon- he worked most of the day. Sunday evening we went to dinner at the Coronado Brewery. That evening after dinner Isaac and I went for a walk on the beach. It was great time together.

On Tuesday we just hung out in the morning and then we went to Carlsbad to Legoland that afternoon. We actually connected with some school friends who were there on vacation as well. So we spent the night at the hotel and it was fun. Wednesday we spent the whole day with our friends at Legoland.

On Thursday morning the weather wasn't the best so while Jeff worked I took the kids to the Children's Museum in San Diego. That afternoon when it warmed up we rented bikes for the afternoon. We found some little Coronado secrets along the way. It was really fun. After dinner we took the kids to the hot tub for some night swimming- they LOVED it. We couldn't get them out of there.

Friday was another beach and pool day. We walked down to the dog beach. It was fun even though we learned that Anna is freaked out by clams and seashells. She hated walking on them. However, she loved doing cartwheels every chance she could- on the beach. The kids loved the dog beach. There was this 5 month old newfy who jumped all over them. They were full of giggles. We walked back to the condo after the dog beach and we spent the rest of the afternoon at the pool. Friday night after dinner we went to ice cream at Moo Time then home for the night.

Saturday morning we went and hit a few of the shops before heading back for our last day of beach and pool time. We were at the beach for about an hour and then the kids swam for like 3-4 hours Saturday afternoon. We went up to the condo for dinner and some packing. We promised the kids we would take them night swimming again so we took them one more time. They loved it. Nonstop- we were down there for at least another hour.

It was a great week. My favorite time is family time with my crew.

Donuts @ Dunham

This is our second year in a row going to Dunham Park after the last day of school for donuts and freedom! The weather was not on our side, but my kids still really wanted to go. So we did it. We didn't have the turn out we would have expected if the weather would have been better but there were still plenty of kids to play. They don't really mind the cold.

Happy Summer!

Last day of school

Our last day of school came up so fast. The days and weeks leading up to our last day were so busy life was nonstop.

It is so hard to believe these 2 completed kindergarten and 2nd grade and that we are onto 1st and 3rd grade. Time needs to slow down, now.

Summer time!

Thank you notes

At the end of the school year I ask my kids to write a thank you note to their teachers. They both love their teachers so much and are sad to say goodbye to them. Anna gets really emotional when she thinks about leaving her teacher for the summer. I am sad for them but also excited for their future.

Before I put their thank you notes in their folder I took a quick picture for my keepsake.

Ice Skating

The whole school (minus the kindergarteners and the preschoolers) went ice skating since they reached their goal from their school fundraiser. I drove 4 kids there and hung around while they skated. It was a fun outing......

2 days until summer!

field day

The kids have field days on different days because of their ages. Kindergarten and 1st have it one day at school and then 2nd thru 6th have it the next day at a nearby park.

I went to cheer Anna on with her class and it was really fun. They all cheered each other on and were really into it. They had to do their activities in the school because it was too wet from the rain. Anna is such a team player.

The next day I helped work at Isaac's at the park. A friend and I ran the scooter races. It was fun. All the kids had a great time, too. I am proud of all the kids.

Mother's Day

I had the perfect Mother's Day weekend. It lasted the whole weekend, not just on Sunday.

We spent most of our weekend at the soccer fields watching Isaac play in his first soccer tournament. He had so much fun and loved being out there. He is growing up way too fast.

Then we rode bikes down to B & G for ice cream. On our way down there we stopped at the park and ran into some friends so we all went together for ice cream. It was a really good evening.

On our way home from ice cream we stopped and looked for flowers. Jeff had his pick up so he was able to take our stuff home. He brought his pick up for Anna as we assumed riding home would be too far. We were wrong. Just kept right up with us and made it all the way there and back. She is growing up way too fast.

I love my crew.

spring blooms

After out May snowfall I wasn't anticipating my lilacs to bloom for a while. I was wrong. They are blooming and are gorgeous and smell incredible. One of my favorite things to do during this time is to make little bouquets for friends. I delivered this to my girlfriend for her birthday.

principle for the morning

One of the auction items at a recent fundraiser for our school was for the kids to be principle for the morning. So, I bid on it and eventually won it for my kids.

They got to pick the dress down theme- which they chose pajamas. They also got to spend the morning with their principle doing all the things she does in the morning. Anna told me she was so tired from walking up and down the halls visiting each classroom. They finished by going to lunch and ice cream where they then went back to their regular day.

They had a great time!

Jeff and I went to Florida for a Burger King convention. I was under the impression I would get lots of rest and relation... Which I did. But I was not planning on the late nights, either!

We had a great time. Sun, pools, spa, day trips, dinners, etc.

We sure have a good time!

Thanks Jeff, for letting me tag along!
