Mickey Mouse Live

On Sunday Suzie, Shelley, Mandy and I took the kids to See Mickey. It was a really fun show and most of the kids were glued to the show from beginning to end. There might have been some dancing, too.

Thanks Shelley, for organizing.

The Ultimate Bachelor/Bachelorette Pool

I have been involved in this Bachelor/Bachelorette pool for years. I actually used to be in charge of it. Not anymore. My friend, Michelle is. So it is really fun and the group has expanded over the years and now there are 108 people playing and more that just follow along with the emails. It fun and hilarious and people are in this group from all over the country. Some of us know each other and others may only know one other person in the group. Which has made if fun because we have all gotten to know each other over the years- via email. There is one guy who starts the discussion on Monday evening after he has watched, in CA. Then the rest of us email and reply and it is fun and funny.

So one of my friends sent me a link that the Argus is doing a story on Bachelor viewing parties so I emailed her and told her a little bit about our group. She came over the watch with a few of us on Monday. It was really fun. I asked her to send me a couple of photos since she had a photographer with her. I got one and am waiting for another. They are running the story in the Argus on Sunday, Feb 2nd. Ha!

She came over and hung out with us. While she was there we facetimed Dave and Michelle and we all met kind of for the first time. It was so funny putting a voice to the emails. We watched the show and laughed and chatted. It was really fun!

So I prepared the whole day. getting rid of toys and paying attention to special details since it's going to be in the paper!

Rest in Peace, Sue

5 short weeks after Linda's mom died Jeff got a call on New Years Day saying his aunt, Linda's sister and best friend had taken a turn for the worse and wasn't going to make it through the night. She had been fighting cancer for quite sometime and her body just couldn't keep up. She didn't make it through the night and we had a text from Linda around midnight saying she passed.

It is just so terribly sad. I am so sad for Linda. She and Sue had a relationship similar to my Suzie and me. Talk all the time, know everything about each other and are the best of friends. I know she will find a new normal, but it is just so hard.

Her funeral was sad. I think we all cried from the minute we sat down until the very end. Linda did the eulogy and did such a wonderful job. Then when Linda sat back down after the eulogy she put her head on John's shoulder and cried and it broke my heart again.

At the reception they had a Diet Mountain Dew tower since that was Sue's drink. Our table- Jeff, John, Linda, Joe, Kristy, Scott and myself did a cheers to Sue and took a swig of diet dew.

We will miss Sue. I am here for you, Linda. I love you.

Pay it Forward

Jeff's parents and Joe are in town for Linda's sisters funeral. Tough stuff. This morning we were all in church and there was this lady sitting next to John wearing all Packer gear. John noticed and Linda showed Isaac. Isaac went over and gave her knuckles. At the end of the service the lady asked Linda what our address was. We didn't really think much about it. We got home from church after a while there was a knock at the door. It was the lady with a brand new Green Bay Packer sweatshirt! Wow. He was so excited. And what a wonderful thing to happen during such a sad time.

Now it's our turn to pay it forward.

New Years

This year was spent like most years in the passed- I think we have missed one year since Jeff and I were married and that was because Anna was brand new and the roads were terrible. We head to our friends hunting lodge in the middle of South Dakota with several families.

The kids have an absolute blast. I hardly even saw Isaac the 3 days we were there. He was running around with the other kids the entire time. Anna had fun hanging around with the kids and visiting the puppies. Both kids went hunting with Jeff both days. Anna said hunting was her favorite part and Isaac said his favorite part was everything. The kids also did a scavenger hunt, obstacle course and played minute to win it.

Of course once the kids go to bed the adults let loose and have some fun!
