Lake with Cappy

Last weekend Cappy came to the lake. We were so busy! We did everything the lake has to offer. They had such a fun time! Johnny and Linda became grandparents to another little girl for the weekend. She would refer to them as grandpa and grandma all weekend. It was pretty cute. We went for boat rides. They went on the tube. We went on the jet ski. We had a bon fire with s'mores. We went to Arnold's Park and went on all the rides. We went to the concert in the park after we had some ice cream. We went swimming. They played in the sand. On and on, we were busy and I was so exhausted by the time we got home on Sunday evening.

Anna - 18 months

This morning we had Anna's 18 month check up. All is well. The hardest part was the shots. Isaac was really feeling bad for his little sister. She screamed for a couple of minutes but was happy to pick out a sticker.

pb

In the recent weeks I have started to introduce peanut butter to Anna. I usually just give her a bite of my peanut butter toast. This morning she wanted more. I gave her a slice. She was getting really messy and peanut butter was covering the table. Then she decided the peanut butter should be her shampoo. She was rubbing it all over her hair and face and tummy. Ohmygosh. I was in shock and Isaac was laughing at her. She giggled the whole time. She is always doing things I never imagined possible! I just have to suck it up and let her be. She took a big tubby after her peanut butter experience.

father's day

We spent father's day like most father's day. We spend the weekend at the lake with Jeff's parents and then we come back for a BBQ at my parents to spend time with my dad.

This weekend the weather was perfect for the lake. We spent Sunday by the water and hanging with the dad's. I am pretty sure Jeff had a good day and the kids were having fun. It was nice to see my dad, as well. It was really casual and relaxed. Just like it should be.

hanging with uncle joe

The last couple of weeks Uncle Joe has been at the lake. The kids have loved having him around! Anna really likes him. She jumps in his arms and loves to be around him. Isaac loves to play soccer and golf with him. Last weekend Isaac and Joe got into a water fight (I helped Isaac) and Isaac giggled pretty much the whole time. These kids are pretty special to have Joe!

loving Arnold's Park

We have been spending so much time at the lake this summer. We got both kids a season pass to Arnold's Park. Isaac has always loved the rides. This year Anna has started riding them and loves them, as well. She kicks and screams when it is time to get off.

this moment

Joining Soulemama in {this moment} – A Friday ritual. A single photo – no words – capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember. If you’re inspired to do the same, leave a link to your ‘moment’ in the comments for all to find and see.

first official time out

This morning after Anna bit me, I decided it is time for a little discipline. She is close enough to 18 months. So I told her that biting is not allowed and I put her against the wall. (This is how we discipline Isaac so I am pretty sure she knows the drill). She stayed there the entire time and was not happy. I couldn't resist I had to take a picture.

baby hog

Isaac is the official baby hog. He wants to hold Sullivan and just be by him all the time! I am not sure how long this is going to last, but it is intense. He calls him- Silvie, Sullivan, Sully, baby, etc.

Anna just loves to give Sullivan love. She points to him and says, "baby" all the time. Anna is not the baby anymore. She looks so big when Sullivan is around.

We are lucky to see Sullivan almost everyday. It is going to be really fun having my kids be more like the older brother and sister to Sullivan than his cousin.

Meet Sullivan

My sister, Suzie had her baby!

All was calm and quiet on Wednesday evening. I was going to sleep extra early because Jeff was leaving town early on Thursday so I wanted to get plenty of sleep since I was going to be solo parenting the next 4 days. 2:30am Thursday morning my phone rings... it's Suzie and she was calling to tell me her water broke! My first thought was- "crap". This is the worst timing as Jeff has to leave the house in 3 hours to catch his flight. My next thought was, "there is nothing we can do about it now, it is what it is".

I got out of bed and got some clothes on and went to check on her. I got to the hospital early and came home about 15 minutes later as I was informed it was going to be a long day. I got myself back to sleep and woke to a text from Suzie at 6:30am. My mom came over at about 7:30 and I was up with Suzie by 8am. It was a long day for Suzie. The little guy was born at 5:58pm on Thursday, May 31st.

It was one of the craziest experiences of my life seeing Suzie deliver Sullivan. Suzie was in on both of my babies being delivered but I had no clue what was all going on. Watching Suzie push so hard and the head come down closer each time. I didn't know when or if he would ever show up. It seems like it takes forever! But each time she pushed we saw more and more of his little head with lots of hair. After about an hour and a half of intense pushing- out he came. It's a boy! Everyone was so excited. Lots and lots of tears of excitement and joy.

I am so excited for Suzie and Dave! I can't wait to watch this little guy grow up.
