2011 in review

Wow. That year went fast!

Jeff is doing great! Working a lot and playing a lot. He has been on the road again for work this last few months installing new menu boards so that has taken some time. We miss him when he is gone. Burger King keeps him really busy. He spends most of his free time with the kids and me. He is such a good daddy. He still loves football and is on a couple fantasy football teams which keeps him busy. He spent a week in Vegas preparing for the Airshow which is coming in July of 2012. He tries to get out with his friends every once in a while but family is his top priority.

I feel like my life has been pretty consistent over the last couple of years. I am in the same Bunco group. Same group over girls for over 4 years! Amazing to see how life has changed for all of us. I am now more of a permanent fixture on the bowling team. I bowl once a month. I try to get out with friends every once in a while but I spend most of my days with the kids and when Jeff gets home we spend time as a family. I am so blessed to have such great people in my life.

Isaac is growing up so fast. He is 3. He is going to preschool 2 mornings a week and loves it. He goes to St. Micheal's. He is learning to count and knows so many numbers and letters and knows how to write his name. It is seriously amazing how fast this is all going. He loves to spend time with his friends and his current obsession is Mario Brothers. He is obsessed with Mario. It is crazy. He is a really good kid and I love him more everyday. He tells me about 20 times a day that I am "the best mommy in the whole world." He is the best little boy in the whole world.

Anna turned one just a couple of weeks ago. She is busy... we call her the tornado right now. She destructs everything in her path. She amazes me all of the time, too. She started crawling at about 6 months and was walking by about 10 months. So she has been ultra busy for a little while now. She gets around really good. She is a total daddy's girl. Every time he walks in the door from work she screams and runs to him. It is pretty sweet. She is working on all 4 molars right now. She is a trooper. She is a really good sleeper and we are really enjoying that since her big brother isn't a very good sleeper.

We had a busy year again. In March we went to Orlando for a week to take Isaac to Disney World. It was really wonderful and Anna did really well. Isaac loved meeting Mickey Mouse and all of his friends. We also went to Sea World and a Twins spring training game. We spent almost every weekend at the lake this summer and we loved every second. In July we went with my whole family to the Black Hills for a week. It was beautiful. Everyone had a great time! In September Jeff and I went to Atlantic City and New York City for a week for our 5 year anniversary. It was a surprise and all planned by Jeff. What a great week! So much fun and we enjoyed every minute of our time together. Finally, we spent our Christmas in Arizona with Jeff's family. We had such a great time and the weather was perfect!

We have a lot to look forward to in 2012.... but 2 babies are the main thing! Suzie and Dave are expecting in June and Patricia and Jack are expecting in July! We cant wait for Isaac and Anna to have 2 new cousins...

Thanks for keep up with my blog!

I completed my goal....

I nursed both of my kids for the first year of their life. I didn't spend $1 on formula. It was one thing I really wanted to do for both of my kids and I did it with ease. I am lucky because I have no problem producing milk and both of my kids were really good nursers.

I figured out how much money I saved... one year of formula is about $1,500... so with both kids I saved probably over $3,000. I even have had enough milk left over that I have pumped and have been able to share with with friends, donate it to a research group and even gave it to a friend to treat her little boys ear infection!

Speaking of pumping.. here are some places I have pumped:

The Lake
Cruise Ship in Alaska
On the interstate
airport gate
Las Vegas Bathroom
Golf Course
Green Bay Packers Stadium
Atlantic City
New York City
Denver and Chicago Airports
Lake Tahoe

I am sure there are more random spots, but those are just a few! That is what you call dedication.

You are welcome, Isaac and Anna!

love, Mom

Arizona Christmas 2011

We spent 6 days in Arizona for Christmas this year and had a great time! We were very busy and didn't have much down time but it was great to be with Jeff's family and to have Isaac and Jaxson together. They pick up right where they left off every time they get together. We spent Christmas Eve at John and Linda's where the kids were spoiled with wonderful presents. Anna got plenty of toys and clothes and Isaac got Mario everything! Lucky kids. We also found out that Jack and Patricia will be having another baby in July! Jaxson got a shirt that said "BIG BROTHER 7/2012"! Everyone is very excited for them! Christmas day we spent at Jack and Patricia's. The kids played outside for hours. It was so nice out! All the kids surprised John and Linda and we had professional family pictures taken on Monday. We are all very anxious to see how they turned out....

The rest of the week we spent lots of time by the pool, shopping and we took the kids to a puppet show which was really cool!

Enjoy all the pictures!

The Falls

The Falls have created an awesome Christmas light display and we went down on Sunday with Suz, Dave, Liz and the kids. It was really awesome to see and I got a couple really cool pictures. The one of my little family isn't that great but I wanted to display that Jeff is wearing shorts in December! A few people made comments to him but he thought it was the perfect day for shorts... We are that much closer to spring! Enjoy..

Sunday. 12/22- 52 degrees!

On Sunday it was beautiful! 52 degrees! Wow... Suzie took Isaac to the park and she said it was packed. Jeff and Anna played in the backyard on the swing set. She got to go on the swing and down the slide. She had a huge smile on her face the whole time. Suz and Isaac came home and Isaac wanted to go out and slide with Anna. Pretty special day! Lucky us for having such great weather in December.

Connelly Family Christmas

We celebrated Christmas with my family early since we will be heading to Arizona this year to be with Jeff's family. It was a really fun night and we were up until 11:30! We played with Wii and my parents were playing Just Dance (pic below). It was really fun. My dad's sister, Patty was here, too. It was really nice to have her. The kids had a great time. Sophia played her saxophone for us and Santa and his Elf even showed up! It was a really great night... enjoy the pics!

Happy Birthday Anna!

Anna Turned 1 on Friday, December 16th! We had such a good day. We spent the whole day at home and just played and played. I spent much of the day preparing for the party that evening but when Anna was awake I tried to play with her and snuggle her as much as possible.

With both kids on their first Birthday I had emotional moments. I relived the entire birth process from the previous year.

Anna's birth was an emotional roller coaster. I remember the entire first part of the month I was just so anxious to have my baby. My Dr finally induced me on the 16th. The easiest part of the day was the delivery. I only pushed for about 10 minutes and out she came...a girl at 4:07pm! We were so shocked and so excited... Jeff was crying like a baby. Then things made a turn for the worse. I remember my Dr watching me and the bleeding not stopping. Then I got light headed and the nurse laid me back and gave me oxygen. The Dr then started giving orders; "call anesthesia, call the back up OB Dr on call", etc... The next thing I knew she was telling Jeff and Suzie what was going to happen and we were off to the operating room. They gave me some drugs to make me forget and I was totally out of it. They ended up stopping the bleeding and I was back into my room about 45 minutes later. I remember getting wheeled back into the room and asking for my mom. She waved her hand in the air so I knew she was there. I just think about what she was thinking when she came up to see me knowing I had the baby and I wasn't in the room. How scary that must have been. It was just Suzie, Jeff and this brand new baby in the room. I had some crazy side effects from all the drugs and I was finally up for seeing Isaac at about 7pm. He came up to meet his baby sister and he was such a proud big brother. Jeff and Isaac went home around 9pm and it was just Suzie, my mom and me chatting. Suzie broke down in tears and told me how scared she was when the bleeding wouldn't stop. She just said all she could think about was my little babies and how much they needed their mom. It broke my heart. We were all crying and the nurse came in and gave us all hugs and just said what a traumatic experience it was and we would experience lots of ups and downs in the coming weeks and the best thing to do was just to talk about it. And we did, and we still do. Later that evening I developed a spinal headache from the epidural and I had 2 blood patches and they each lasted about 24 hours. It took about 5-7 days for me to be back to myself. It was a rough experience. Jeff's parents were here and they were such great help. I will never forget when Linda told me that Johnny and Anna slept for hours together. She just laid on his stomach and they napped and snuggled. I am sure he will cherish that day forever and even though I was feeling so crappy I am so happy he got that time with her.

Here we are one year later... Such a happy girl! We couldn't imagine our lives without her. She is a little tornado as she destructs everything in her path. And she is such a daddy's girl. Oh my gosh... she goes nuts whenever Jeff walks into that door. I love it. She and Isaac have so much fun playing together and they have already started to have their little battles. I guess that is what life is all about...

Her 1 year stats are:
Weight: 21.8 (58%)
Height: 28.5 (27%)
Head Size: 18.25 (84%)

So my latest obsession is Pinterest... And I decided to try out one of the ideas on there from the blog She has really good ideas. This one was to take a big box as I have below... and then poke a bunch of holes in the top and poke Christmas lights in the top and it is a really cool cave! Check out my work...

Elf on the Shelf

My girlfriend filled me in on the Elf on the Shelf and I went out and purchased our own. It has been SO much fun! Isaac loves to wake up and go find his elf, Wantey. It is the first thing he does and when he finds him he explains to us how Wantey ends up in his new location every day. It is so fun! Isaac will go over and tell Wantey about his day and what he wants for Christmas. He will tattle tale on Jeff or Me or Anna! I think Jeff and I are having just as much fun hiding him every night. Here are a couple of spots we have chosen...

Christmas time is so much fun with a 3 year old!

1st snow

I cant believe it is already a week into December and we have only gotten a little bit of snow. It is nice since the temps have been warm but sad to say I am ready for some snow. So Saturday it did snow and Isaac wanted to be out so bad. We came home from a Birthday party that evening and Isaac and Jeff got all bundled up and went out. Isaac helped Jeff shovel the sidewalks and wanted to do more so he continued to shovel the grass. Silly kiddo. Anna probably would prefer to be out with them but she had to watch from inside this time. When we have more snow out there I will bundle her up and take her for a dip in the snow!

Poor sweet little Anna had a run in with the hot fireplace glass on Saturday morning. She touched it long enough to get a big time owie. She cried for over an hour and Jeff and I contemplated bringing her into the ER or acute care. I finally got a hold of Suzie and Dave (they had their ringers on silent) and Dave came right out to take a look at it. About 5 minutes before they got here she finally stopped screaming. It was terrible. We have been keeping it wrapped and medicated. The blister finally popped so hopefully we are going to be back to normal. It sucks watching your kids in so much pain.

We all learned a big lesson.
