2010 in review

I sit on the couch on New Years Eve looking out the window at the clear skies. We were supposed to have a blizzard today, and I don't even see a flake of snow in the sky. We did get 3 inches or so earlier today, but nothing close to a blizzard. Go figure, Keloland!

We had a good 2010.

Jeff is still working for Dakota King and it keeps him very busy. He had to travel quite a bit early in the year installing new registers. I was happy when that project was done. He enjoys football- Cowboys and Notre Dame. He enjoys Baseball- Twins. He loves to hang with Isaac and do guy stuff. He got his little girl and it was love at first sight.

Maggie stays home with the kids and loves it. She is adjusting to life with 2, it is going much better than expected. The hardest part of her day is getting Isaac down for a nap- but they are getting figured out. She is still in her bunco league and loves to get out of the house for girls night once a month. She still subs in a bowling league and recently bowled in the 170's! It was pretty exciting. Things are good!

Isaac is a busy 2 1/2 year old. He loves playing with instruments, cars, trains, reading books, singing songs, snuggling with mom and dad, watching movies, playing basketball, and on and on. He is still in Kindermusik and loves his teacher. He is also going to "school" once a week at Miss Jaspers house. He loves her, too. It took him several weeks to get adjusted to school as he went by himself but now he loves it. I think it is a good adjustment as we are planning on starting him in preschool next fall. Isaac is so much fun. We love him to pieces.

Anna is our newest family member. She was born on December 16th. She is a sweet little girl. She sleeps most of the time. She is loved by Isaac, sometimes a little too much. She sleeps really well- only waking up about 2 times a night. She loves to be snuggled and swaddled. We didn't find out it was a baby girl until delivery day. It was such an exciting surprise! I thought for sure we were going to have another boy so when we found it was a girl we were all shocked and we all had tears of joy. What a fun experience!

We lost our dog, Hailey in March. She had oral cancer. It was really sad and hard. Our other dog, Ozzy is actually doing pretty well and has adjusted to being the only dog pretty well.

We had many fun adventures this year. In February Suzie, Isaac and I went to California for a week to see my parents. In March we went to Arizona for a week for Jack and Patricia's wedding. We spent many fun weekends at the lake this summer. Isaac loves the lake. Jeff and I went to Minneapolis in January for a Cowboys game. We went again in July for a couple of twins games and again in October to watch the Cowboys again. Suzie and Dave got married in September in Coronado. It was beautiful! Suzie, Dave, Jeff and I went to The Prairie Club in August to play golf and get some R & R. It was really hot, but lots of fun. We played lots of games and a little golf.

We hope you guys had a great year, too! We are excited for 2011!

Anna - 2 weeks

Anna is 2 weeks old today. It is going fast and I am noticing she is growing out of her newborn clothes. I am afraid this whole baby stage is going to fly by. She is such a good baby and consistently wakes up 2 times in the night to feed and then back to sleep. She loves to be swaddled and as soon as I swaddle her she is asleep within 10 minutes. Amazing how well that works (never once worked with Isaac when he was a newby). She gets lots of love from everyone, including Isaac who gets a little too close- but he is learning. She is going to be a tough girl with him as a big brother.

Daddy love

Isaac asks about Jeff all the time nowadays! He loves his daddy to pieces. They play all the time together. He is the best daddy around. So good and devoted to his family. I am the luckiest girl! (can you tell we are potty training??)

What a picture. Look at that big boy with those big blue eyes holding his baby sister so close. Talk about sweetness. Love these kiddos!

Fun Christmas visitors!

Isaac had a great Christmas with Jeff's parents and Joe here. They woke up with him everyday and played with him until they couldn't play anymore. They also helped a ton with Anna. We were thankful to have them here with me being layed up for several days after we got home from the hospital. Isaac loves to have Uncle Joe around, too. They play nonstop. Lucky kid to have such a great Uncle!

future blackmail pictures

I cant wait until these kids are all in high school together-
and show off these pictures to them and their friends!

Burrito Baby!

Anna is 5 days old here. She loves to be swaddled!

Anna's 1st bath

Isaac is eager to check out the baby tub. He is a little big and full of chocolate!

As you can see, Anna wasn't too thrilled for her first bath.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas from our family of 4!

Anna - 1 week

We had Anna's 1 week appointment on Thursday. She is 8lbs 8oz! Pretty awesome considering she left the hospital weighing 7lbs 4oz. She also grew 1/4 inch in length putting her in the 75% in both categories. So far she is such a good baby. Only waking up a couple of times in the night to feed and then she goes back to sleep. She loves being swaddled at night time and she loves her big brother. Isaac loves her, too. Last night on our way home from Christmas at my mom's she was fussing in the back seat and I looked back to try to help and he was holding her hand. So sweet. Melts my heart. We are so lucky!

Anna Marie Oliver

Anna was born on 12/16/10 @ 4:07pm. She weighed 7lbs 9oz and was 20 inches long. The delivery was the easiest part of my day. After she was born I hemorrhaged and lost 1200 cc's of blood and was taken to the OR to stop the bleeding. Thankfully they got the bleeding under control. After I got back to the room I developed a major spinal headache from the epidural. I went in for 2 different blood patches that never did quite fix it. They would help for about 24 hours or so and then the headache would come back. I ended up spending 5 days flat on my back. People were constantly here taking care of Isaac and only bringing Anna in to nurse. I am so blessed to have all the help but still devastated I wasn't able to spend the time with my new baby and my energetic toddler. I am finally feeling better and am able to be upright for a longer period of time. Thank God. It has been an emotional roller coaster.

Anna is perfect. She eats, sleeps and poops. I forgot how much newborns sleep! Isaac is so good with her, too. I am so lucky to have 2 wonderful kiddos! And did I mention how shocked and excited we were that it was a girl! I am still shocked!

38 Weeks

I went to my 38 week appointment today and I am dilated to a 2. I am sooo ready for this baby to make its arrival. Come on, what are you waiting for?! She did schedule and induction for December 16th if this baby hasn't arrived by then. I have to report to Labor and Delivery at 6am. I really hope this baby decides to come before then. I have so much pressure I can hardly handle it. So much pain with every step I take. My biggest complaint.

Last night we had Jeff's work Christmas party. Before we went to the party we took some pictures... Some of them are pretty funny. I can really tell I am pregnant in my face now.

just because

I had to throw this picture on here for the heck of it. Seriously, this kid is hilarious!

Big Helper

It is so much fun doing Christmas things with Isaac. He loves to help with everything. Here he is trying to help Jeff put up lights. Sweet kiddo! He sure loved checking out the finished product when the sun went down. Good job, Jeff!

Since it was Thanksgiving weekend there were a couple friends in town. We had a small get together with a couple of friends. Isaac loved being the oldest kid and taking care of the little ones. Here is a pic of Brynn, Isaac and Sam. Pretty sweet if you ask me.

Thanksgivng Pies

Suzie and I have created a tradition with all the neices and nephews on my side of the family. The night before Thanksgiving we have all the kids over to make pies for Thanksgiving at my Mom's house. It was a crazy night this year! All 4 kids were dropped off by 6 for pizza and then we made 4 pumpkin pies and a pumpking bundt (butt cake as the kids call it) cake.

baby bump

I am officially 37 weeks pregnant. This picture was taken when I was 36 weeks pregnant. I cant imagine I am much bigger now than last week. I am feeling huge and sooo ready! Any day now, baby Oliver! I cant hardly wait to find out the sex of this baby! Isaac is excited, too. It is his baby, after all (according to him)!

Christmas Tree

Every year we buy our Christmas Tree at Lewis Drug. This thing was $20 and huge and pretty. So we got it home and set it up and it isterribly lopsided. We spent the weekend shifting and turning it and everything else. We worked some magic, I must say...

Isaac had so much fun decorating the tree with Jeff. He loved putting the decorations on. Just an FYI, they have decorations that are shatterproof! We have tested this product several times and not one has broke yet!
More decorating!

And more decorating!

TaDaa! Our finished product!

Now we just need some presents!

South Dakota Children's Museum

On Tuesday Isaac and I went with 3 other Mom's and 5 other kids to Brookings where they opened a Children's Museum. It was awesome! The only downfall is that it is in Brookings. I really wish it was in Sioux Falls because we would spend lots of time there. It will be fun to make the short drive from time to time, but we wont use it like we would in Sioux Falls. Here are some pics.

Isaac spent about a half hour in the "store"- I couldn't get him out
Here was a vegetable garden. He spent so much time picking tomato's, carrots, pumpkins, potato's and corn. He loved it. LOVED it!
There was a water room that was awesome! The kids got soaking wet and played nonstop.
And a giant LiteBright. Kids loved this, too.
And the car ride home. These three crashed from all the fun they had.

We cant wait to go back and I highly recommend it!

Lots of kids!

Last weekend we had a big play date! A bunch of my high school friends were in town for Suzie and Dave's wedding reception so we got the kids together. It was a lot of fun and total chaos. I cant wait to do it again!

quiet house

This morning Nicki called and said Sophie wanted Isaac to come play after naps and have dinner with her. So When he woke we packed him up and Nicki came to get him. He was totally ok with it and walked right to the car with Nicki and went on his way. I was nervous before he went as he usually wants his mom - but I know how much he loves Nicki, Sophie and Aidan so off he went! She just sent me this picture. Looks like all is going well. It is so fun watching these 2 kids become such good friends as they grow up.

It sure is quiet around this house. I have been napping and Jeff has been downstairs watching the Cowboys.

34 weeks

Today marks 34 weeks of this pregnancy. 6 to go! I had Jeff take a couple of pics the other night. I had to add the first one as I was getting ready to go bowling on a league I sub on. I thought my bowling shirt was not very fitting considering the last thing I am doing right now is drinking and bowling-as much fun as it is. I am also here to tell you, I am done bowling. I was in so much pain when I got home and the next day. Ugh, I am officially taking it easy from here on out.

My mom and dad took Isaac last night for a sleepover. Jeff and I ran around and did some errands and we were at Target and I looked down at my hands and they were the size of sausages. I am swelling up fast as this pregnancy goes on. We went over to Lewis Drug so I could check my blood pressure. It is creeping up there- no fun.

You can tell I am swelling in the pictures below. 6 weeks to go. I can do it, I can do it!

Ready for baby!

Last week we did the final things to get ready for this baby! 6 weeks to go and I think we are set. I have all the neutral clothes I have washed and put away and even got newborn diapers (they are tiny, by the way). Isaac and Jeff put the crib back together.

And look who wanted to sleep in the crib... ahhh poor guy. How are we going to adjust to having 2 kiddos? I know we will be fine and Isaac will be a great big brother, but part of me is bummed it wont be just the 3 of us anymore.

trick or treat!

Isaac was such a trooper on Halloween this year! I think Jeff and I were both shocked at how well he did trick or treating and how into he got. The 3 of us went around to some houses and then I came home to hand out candy and Jeff and Isaac were gone for another hour or so. I couldn't believe it. Enjoy the pics!
