chik chikah!!

Yes I wrote, "chik chikah"!!! The reason?!?!? That is Isaac's favorite saying. He crawls from place to place saying this. The first thing when we go get him from waking up from the night or nap time, he says.... "chick chicka". Sometimes he cuts it down and just says, "chikah." He points at things and says it, he crawls around and says it. It is just the common word in our home. I got it on video and I will share it. Let's see if you can hear it!?

home sweet home

You know the feeling when you have been gone for a few days and when you get home, it just feels sooo right?!?! That is the way I have been feeling since Thursday evening. We are just really happy to be home. I am sure that the fact that Isaac was so sick on vacation had something to do with it. He did really well on the flights home. He slept basically the whole time we were in the air. We could not have had better luck.

He is also doing much better. We went to the Dr on Friday afternoon and she said he is looking well. She gave him some antibiotic and we are on our way to a healthy little guy!

Isaac is really thinking about those first steps. Jeff has been working with him all weekend and he has taken a couple here and there! But I am thinking it will be awhile until he is fully mobile on 2 feet. But we are definitely headed in that direction. I tried to get some on video but every time he sees that video camera he gets distracted.

We had a really good time in California even though we had a sick baby and the weather was not the best. We got just a little beach time to take some pictures. Isaac definitely does not look 100%, but we had to get some pics. Isaac absolutely loved the beach! He loved the sand and kept picking it up and throwing it. It is just too bad he was not feeling well enough to be out there very long! Next time.

Jeff ran out for a little bit this morning and Isaac just went down for his nap.... so I am going to take full advantage of the quiet house and take a nap, too!

Pneumonia Baby

We are still on vacation visiting my parents in Coronado, CA. Well, Isaac has been sick pretty much the whole time we have been here. Since Sunday evening he has been coughing and getting a cold. The worst case of it was on Monday night/Tuesday morning. He was burning up and would only sleep on me or Jeff and refused to nurse. Yesterday things starting looking better so we thought we were in the clear. But this morning his cough was really bad and we figured since we are traveling all day tomorrow it would be best if we had him checked over, just to be on the safe side. So we called around to several clinics and they were all booked so we ended up taking him to the Emergency Room. They checked him over all right, 2 x-rays, blood draws, and some anti-biotic administered with a monster shot.... and we were out of there with x-ray records in hand to give to our Dr when we get home. Poor little guy has pneumonia! I will post some pics when we get home and back to normal.
Wish us luck tomorrow as we travel home!

Valentine Baby!

Today we had craft day! It was a rainy gloomy day here so we spent the entire day indoors. Suzie had the day off work so she came over to help with the crafts. We made some homemade Valentine's day cards for some special people. It was quite the experience. I was not completely prepared for the event. Let me just say one thing, messy!! We got some pink and red finger paints and craft paper, we were trying to get Isaac to make nice hand prints, etc. Well let me tell you this, he was crawling through the paints and trying to get out of the basement onto the carpet. We kept having to chase him and grab him quick before he got on the carpet. He might had gotten a little on the carpet, but don't tell Jeff!! ha ha. Just kidding. I will attach a few picture from the day. Isaac, Jeff and I would like to wish everyone a wonderful Valentines Day!

Countdown...

I am counting down the hours till Jeff gets home.... I think we have about 20 hours to go. He has been in Rapid/Spearfish/Sturgis all week for work and I am starting to go a little stir crazy! I am sure Isaac is feeling the effects of this, too. We have been keeping really busy but just the last hour or so before Isaac goes to sleep the little things start to get to me.
I know Isaac has been missing his Daddy, too. Today Jeff and I were talking via video messaging and I put Isaac up to the computer and he just stared at Jeff. I really wonder what Isaac was thinking. He kept on touching the screen. It sure is amazing how this technology stuff works!
Jeff and I were talking and I was asking him if he is having a hard time being away from Isaac. His answer was a definite "yes". I know it is much harder for Jeff to leave for longer periods of time since Isaac is getting so fun.
So we will all be a much happier family when Daddy gets home..... in about 20 hours!!!

Big Day!

Today Isaac and I had a pretty big day. First thing this morning I noticed 2 new teeth in Isaac's mouth- that makes 8 teeth! He does pretty good with teething. Has a couple fussy days before hand, but nothing we cant handle. He is a pretty tough sport. The teeth that popped through are on the bottom.

Today Isaac also got his 1st haircut! He did such a good job. He looks so much older now that he is all cleaned up. I had my hair lady, Sherie do it. She did so good with him. He really did well and we only had to hold his head a couple times so she could get by his ears. And, no tears!

Last but not least, today is Grandma Oliver's Birthday! We hope she had a wonderful day!

2nd Mom

Isaac is such a lucky kid. Not only does he have 2 parents who love him more than life itself, but he has someone else who is not only his Aunt, but pretty much his 2nd Mom. This is Suzie. I am so grateful to have her not only in my life, but in Isaac's as well. She loves him to pieces and she devotes so much time to him whenever she has a spare minute.

Jeff has been traveling a ton for work since October and I have had some long days. He is usually gone just overnight but there has been times when he is gone for 2 nights and sometimes the entire week. This week he is gone until Thursday. Not easy. But thankfully, I have Suzie. She came with us to swimming tonight so she could fill in for Jeff and help with Isaac. She stays over some nights when it works with her work schedule. I appreciate her so much, words cant even begin to describe.

The best thing about it is that I think she enjoys the time as much as I do. I know she has a really big soft spot in her heart for Isaac and I am positive Isaac is developing one for her. She sees him practically everyday. It is bittersweet when Isaac reaches for her when I am holding him, but it also makes me proud that he loves her sooo much. I just cant wait to see how much fun they will have together when he gets older. I get pretty emotional just thinking about it.

So thank you, Suzie. I don't think I can ever repay you for all you have done for Isaac. Jeff, Isaac and I really appreciate all you do! Love you, forever!!

10 Months Old

It is so hard to believe that Isaac is 10 months old today! He is such a busy little guy and so much fun! In the past few days I have been remembering all of those not so fun nights right away at the beginning and how far we have come since then. Hard to believe when he first came home he was nursing every 1 1/2 to 2 hours and I was constantly at his side at anytime. Now he can play on his own and he can get himself to sleep. It just goes to show how fast they do grow up.
I can remember thinking and wondering why people have more than one child with all the work that was involved right away and now I wonder how people only have one. I love the time I have with Isaac but know that the next time we have a baby I will try to take more time to enjoy the teeny tiny stage as it goes so fast even though you don't hardly get any sleep or free time. I will not just wish the next one to be older right away and cherish the baby time.
But this age with Isaac is by far my favorite so far. He is learning to wave and I just really enjoy the 10 minutes right after he wakes up... all he wants to do is snuggle in my shoulder and just rest on me. I love seeing his face light up when I walk into the room and I really enjoy watching him interact with his friends.
I will attach some of my favorite pictures when he was a little guy, enjoy!

25 Things...

On Facebook there is this thing going around called 25 things... Once you have been tagged on someones list you are too make your own list. I thought I would share my list. Enjoy!
